Innovate Mississippi is thrilled to get local coverage of our announcements, and this story by WJTV is a great one! With the announcement last week that the W.K. Kellogg Foundation will grant $1 million to the Mississippi Coding Academies for expansion in Jackson, the word is out about the exciting possibility for young graduates in Jackson and around Mississippi.
In the story by WJTV reporter Candace Coleman, she notes that some of the current coders in the Jackson cohort didn’t even know what coding was before they started; now they’re on track to get the higher-paying technology jobs that many Mississippi companies need to fill.
As a result of this story the Mississippi Coding Academies website at http://www.mscoding.org/ is already getting a flood of information requests for potential coders; if you’d like more information or know someone who could be a good candidate, head there now and get in touch!
