About the workshop presenters:
Ty Posey, Workforce Leader – Mississippi Polymer Institute (MPI). Mr. Posey joined MPI in 1997, as MPI’s technical service and workforce development leader he has worked to grow the polymer industry in the state of Mississippi through all phases of MPI’s operational focus. He has trained thousands of Mississippi employees for numerous Mississippi companies.
He is a NIST-certified instructor for the Lean Manufacturing Suite of courses, a certified plastics instructor, is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has developed courses for specific company training needs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science and a Master’s degree in Workforce Training and Development from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Sumesh Arora is Vice President of Innovate Mississippi and the Mississippi Energy-Economy-Environment (ME3) program manager for InnovateMEP Mississippi. He has worked on programs ranging from cleantech commercialization, combined heat and power, innovation strategy development, and STEM education. He has over 25 years of experience in the private and public sectors and is the co-inventor of a patented technology to convert poultry litter into bioenergy. He testified before the United States Senate in 2014 to lend support for advanced biofuels. Sumesh received his PhD in international development from the University of Southern Mississippi where he teaches as an adjunct professor in the College of Business.
