Innovate Mississippi, with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, announces the Minority and Women Entrepreneur Development Program. Minority and women founders will be invited to join a network of peers to participate in programs that further entrepreneurial education, provide mentor connections, and offer general development assistance.
Beginning on July 21st, Innovate Mississippi will host weekly webinars on various topics along with office hours allowing entrepreneurs to connect with mentors for one-on-one assistance. While Innovate Mississippi focuses on building resources for technology and innovation-based businesses, the services offered under the Minority and Women Entrepreneur Development Program are not limited to technology and innovation-based businesses.
This program includes the LaunchFund, which provides zero-interest loans to low-income startup founders, to fund the earliest stages of development. The seed loans, ranging from $2,000 – $5,000 are aimed to assist low-income minority, women, or parent entrepreneurs with activities that help prove the business idea is viable and has merit. Participants will also be screened and prepared for other resource programs that fit their specific businesses.
If you are interested in participating in these webinars and office hour events or applying for LaunchFund, please contact Tasha Bibb at tbibb@innovate.ms or 601.960.3610.
