Anne Ligman Turner is a shareholder in the Jackson, Mississippi office of Baker Donelson and is a member of the firm’s Global Business Team and Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Group.
With a focus on the representation of technology companies, Ms. Turner specializes in assisting companies with the development, commercialization, licensing and acquisition of core technology assets. Areas of recent technology representation include geophysical acquisition projects, remote monitoring and communications software for oilfield applications, sensors and instrumentation (subsea, land and aviation applications), agricultural biotechnology (naturally-derived chemical substances and seed technology), and novel energy technologies.
Ms. Turner represents U.S. clients with active worldwide operations and foreign clients with U.S. interests. Representations have included guidance on structuring, strategic partnerships and joint ventures; the establishment of foreign offices, distribution and agency/representative networks; and planning for trade and regulatory (anti-corruption) compliance. Ms. Turner has also counseled clients on a wide variety of acquisition and financing transactions, including those involving secured debt, venture capital and private equity investment, and asset sales and purchases.
In addition to business and corporate law, Ms. Turner assists clients with the development, protection and monetization of intellectual property assets involving patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret subject matter. She is also active in advising local community arts and music organizations on matters involving rights protection, asset development, management and sound business practices.
