Joyce Freeland, of The Freeland Law Firm, in Oxford, Mississippi, has more than 25 years experience in business and corporate finance, with a transactional and technology focus.
Before returning to Oxford, she served as in-house counsel and a member of the four-person management team for Omnexus, a $70 million technology modification project, funded by Dow, DuPont, Bayer, BASF, and Ticona-Celanese with headquarters in Atlanta and Zurich, Switzerland. She was also chosen as in-house counsel for a GE Capital lease-financing division in Atlanta and, before and after making partner, worked in the corporate-securities departments of large, well-respected Atlanta law firms.
She is a Mississippi native, graduating as a University Scholar from Ole Miss, and graduating with special distinction and as a member of the Order of the Coif from Emory Law School.
She has volunteered as a mentor and judge in various startup competitions, including acting as an Ambassador for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ole Miss.
She was the Chair of the board of Thacker Mountain Radio during its successful reorganization as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
